The National Naval Aviation Museum is a must see for visitors. Museum includes historic artifacts from early aircraft, cold war era, sunken treasures, WWII, NC-4, and the USS Cabot flight deck. These exibits are all very well presented. Museum also includes Imax theatre, Library, Cubi Bar and Cafe, and Flight Deck store. Please plan a whole day to see it all.
Consider visiting the historic Fort San Carlos de Barrancas also known as Fort Barrancas, located on Pensacola Naval Air Station. This adventageous historic location and has been the home of three diferent forts for three diferent nations. The Royal Navy Redoubt was build of earth and logs in 1763. Two forts were built there by the Spanish around 1797, including a battery below named Bateria de San Antonio and a log fort above named Fort San Carlos de Barrancas. American engineers rebuilt the Battery and built a fort of masonry in the early 1840’s which included a tunnel connecting the two. This is Fort Barrancas as we know it and it reopened in 1980 after a 1.2 million dollar restoration.
